Understanding God’s Plan for Humanity
We are all predestined for a certain purpose. God has appointed or ordained our future for us. Destiny is what God has predetermined for us to be and become in His divine will.
Ephesians 1:11 through 12 “in him also we have received an inheritance, a destiny- we were claimed by God as his own, having been predestined, chosen, appointed, beforehand according to the purpose of Him who works everything in agreement with the council and design of His will so that we who were the first to hope in Christ, who first put our confidence in Him as our Lord and Savior, would exist to the praise of his glory.”
Disovering Your Personal Purpose in God’s Design
Did you know there are no individual destinies but one destiny for us all. It doesn’t matter if you are a teacher, a realtor, work in an office, a pilot, a lawyer, or a housewife, we all have the same destiny given before the
world was formed.
In the book of Ephesians Paul tells us in chapter 1: 4 through 6 He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world that we should be Holy and Blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace with which he has blessed us in the beloved. We have a destiny and that is to be adopted as the children of God. We are to live for our Lord, our lives to be blameless and Holy by the power of the Holy Spirit. We have one single purpose on this earth, to live our lives as praise and glory to Him.
Our destiny is to walk as an adopted child of God living blamelessly before the world to His praise and honor.
How to Live in God’s Purpose Every Day
Our destiny is to become more and more like Jesus wherever we are. We are to become sweeter, more loving, and considerate to our families. We are to grow in love and knowledge of Christ at home, at our jobs, wherever we are.
In Ephesians 1: 4 “for he chose us, you, in him before the foundation of the world.” In Psalms 139: 15 through 16 (our) my frame was not hidden from you when I was being made in secret intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance, in your book were written every one of them, the days that were formed for me, (us).
I say to all the women, wives, and mothers, before the world existed God foresaw you in your present place and time period, He knows your address and He has predetermined His plan for your life.
When God’s Purpose Feels Unclear
At times you may say to yourself; all I do is go to work, cook, clean up the house, run errands, and raise my children, including my husband. Lol. How can this be my destiny? You really do not grasp how important your place is in God. You are a great success in His eyes if you can stand before Him one day and present your children to Him in righteousness and present everyone’s lives that you touched for his glory.
God has always known the lives that you would touch. He knew their names and their personalities. Are you fulfilling your destiny and becoming more like Jesus, growing in Holiness, Righteousness, and Purity where the lives you touch will see Christ in you?
God also has known how many children He would loan you. He too knew their names and personalities; He destined you to raise them in a home filled with power and the presence of Jesus. Your children are an eternal investment God has entrusted to you. Your destiny is to raise your children in a home where prayer is a commonplace, and your life and marriage are an honor and glory to God.
So many of us strive to accomplish wonderful things, but the Lord boils it all down to this simple thing. Are you changing from glory to glory?
Romans 8: 29 “for whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His son that He might be the first born among many brethren.”
Fulfilling Your Destiny
So, are you fulfilling your destiny? Are you more like Jesus this year than you were last year? Do the people who know you see the love of Christ in you? Are you growing in Christ? Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you to serve others, to give up your rights? What are you like at work or at home?
Don’t miss your destiny. Be the woman who walks humbly with her God.
Micah 6: 8 “he has shown you, oh man, (woman) what is good, and what the Lord requires of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Paula Mace
I love being a wife, mother, and grandmother. I was blessed to have been born in a family where my dad was in the ministry. My love, Wilson Mace, is my husband who I have been married to this September, for 34 years. Melissa, Ryan, and LaVonne are three beautiful gifts from God.
