Warriors

So, where do I start? As we enter into 2021, The Lord has impressed on me TO FIGHT, FIGHT IN THE SPRIT! We are in a battle, but not just some ordinary battle; this is Spiritual warfare!

Everything that has been going on around us the past twelve months has made it easy for us to take the bait of satan, as it is so easy to be distracted during these crazy times we are currently living. So, of course, satan is working overtime to keep us separated from God and those people around us that help offer strength when we are weak.

Satan will use anyone and or everything he can to accomplish his ultimate goal, destruction.  He uses people, our vocation, and any weakness he can find.  Some things we definitely put on ourselves, and some are completely out of our control.  It is important to remember what scripture says about this very thing.  2 Corinthians 4:18 says:

So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal [just brief and fleeting], but the things which are invisible are everlasting and imperishable.”

God’s word is the only thing we can trust and rely on when we are in the middle of a battle.

God’s word is the only thing we can trust and rely on when we are in the middle of a battle.

2 Timothy 2:3  says,

Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.”

Ephesians 6:12 says,

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

It is time to put on the full armor of God and fight in the Spirit! Ephesians 6:10-11 says,

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

We, as God’s warriors, have to be on our knees; the battle isn’t over. There is always another battle to fight.  We are not strong enough to constantly be fighting battles on our own; our eyes have to be focused on the one true King.  1 John 4:4  says,

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

When we fight in the Spirit with the Spirit, we become risk-takers, history makers, and most of all, world changers!

When we fight in the Spirit with the Spirit, we become risk-takers, history makers, and most of all, world changers!

WE ARE WARRIORS!  God chose us to live in these uncertain times. God has a purpose for us; we need to ask what his plan for us is during this time and listen when he speaks.

Battles are won when we praise him, put on worship music, and praise him with song and dance. Below is just one of many examples in scripture where the battle was won with praise.

“After this the Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the Meunites, came against Jehoshaphat for battle. Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat, ‘A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; already they are at Hazazon-tamar’ (that is, En-gedi). Jehoshaphat was afraid; he set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. Judah assembled to seek help from the Lord; from all the towns of Judah they came to seek the Lord.” 2 Chronicles 20:1-4

The first thing Judah did was to seek help from the Lord. Their King, Jehosophat cried out to God, and God answered, “Do not fear or be dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them; they will come up by the ascent of Ziz; you will find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel. This battle is not for you to fight; take your position, stand still, and see the victory of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.” Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.’ 2 Chronicles 20:15-17

PUT ON OUR ARMOR, GET ON OUR KNEES, AND FIGHT IN THE SPIRIT WITH THE SPIRIT

Jehoshaphat responded to the Word of the Lord by sending “those who were to sing to the Lord and praise him in holy splendour, as they went before the army, saying,‘Give thanks to the Lord, for his steadfast love endures for ever.’ As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set an ambush against the Ammonites, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed. 2 Chronicles 20:21-22

God gave them the victory! All they had to do was praise!

Let’s PUT ON OUR ARMOR, GET ON OUR KNEES, AND FIGHT IN THE SPIRIT WITH THE SPIRIT – BE A WARRIOR FOR GOD.
