WRITE YOUR STORY

Okay, I’m going to confess; I’m one of those people that will read the end of the story before I read the whole book. When Jerry (my husband) and I are watching a movie together and he has seen it before, I ALWAYS ask him; how does it end. I want to know if it has a happy ending or not. I do not want to waste my time on an unhappy ending whether it’s book or movie. An unhappy ending leaves me feeling sadness and hopelessness for the characters.

If I know the book or movie has a happy ending then I can sit through their drama. In each story there are elements of heartache, mystery, romance, joy, and excitement. As these characters are playing their rolls you can really get caught up in it! You can find yourself saying; oh no don’t leave him/her, don’t open that door there’s danger behind it, just say you’re sorry, for goodness sake just kiss the girl. Then, when it all comes together for that last scene, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Whew! They figured it out; they made it!

Now, of course, there is a producer or author that is writing the stories of each character. They are determining each turn or twist, determining how many times we catch our breaths. They determine all the drama, good or bad, these characters go through. These characters have no choice but to act out what someone else has already written for them!

You have a choice – As believers, we’ve read the book of Revelations to see the happy ending, God WINS! Satan is thrown into the Lake of Fire; there will be no more tears, pain, or death! We’ll live for eternity with Jesus Christ our Savior! Now that is an AMAZING ending of this life and AMAZING beginning of eternity! But…what about the pages of our story before that last scene?

As adults, we are the authors of our stories; we are the ones writing each page of our manuscript. The bible is the ultimate manual on how we should write our lives to read. The Bible shows us how to hear from God so we can make better decisions. There are dos and don’ts in the Word of God. There are also conditions given: “if” we follow His instructions, “then” our lives will be filled with so much more happiness and joy. Does God promise us a life with no heartaches, trouble or trials? NO! Not at all! He does promise us that He will never leave or forsake us, that He will lead (as long as we follow) through the hard times. The Bible tells us that God is our deliverer and there is NOTHING to hard for Him to handle!

We have a glorious eternity waiting for us! Let’s write a glorious beautiful story on our way there!
