Why Cry Out for More?

The Bible is clear that we have been given everything we need to live a victorious life if we have made Jesus the Lord and Savior of our lives. We are blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). We are MORE than conquerors through Christ who loves us (Romans 8:37). God has given us EVERYTHING pertaining to life and godliness (II Peter 1:3). We have been sealed and anointed with the Holy Spirit (II Corinthians 1:21-21). In Christ, the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him, we have been made COMPLETE (Colossians 2:9-10).

So, if God has done all these things and even more for us, why do we ask for more? For a while, I struggled with songs crying out for more if God has already done so much for us. But I realized there IS more!

Paul told us to earnestly desire spiritual gifts, especially that we would prophesy (I Corinthians 14:1). We pray that God would give us more wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17). God wants us to have more anointing and more influence. We can ask for more passion in our relationship with Jesus. God wants everyone to know Him so we can pray for more compassion for others, especially those who don’t know Him.

What if we all prayed for more of the Spirit’s outpouring and more miracles? There is SO much more that God wants to do. Raise your level of expectation and hope! Ephesians 3:20 (TPT) says, “Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for His miraculous power constantly energizes you.”
