What Type of Lenses Are You Wearing?

There are different types of lenses.

A few weeks ago, I was with some friends; one of them was trying to read something to me but was struggling because she didn’t have her glasses. I happened to have my cheaters with me, so I let her use mine.

Unfortunately, she was still unable to see a thing as we obviously have different prescriptions. After two failed attempts, she went and got her own glasses, and amazingly she was able to see crystal clear and could read to me what she was wanting me to hear. Later on that week, that experience came back to my mind, and God spoke to me about the lenses we are looking through. Are we needing to update our prescription?

There are many different lenses; some lenses can make everything look good, seeing things the way we want to see them, which at times can be deceiving.

There are lenses that shade the way we see certain things which may cause us to not see things right in front of us. It is important that we are alert to the things we may not be seeing. There are times that we are not seeing the whole picture.

We also have lenses that are natural. The only purpose they serve is to alter our appearance; this does absolutely nothing for us spiritually. The good news is GOD specializes in the correct lens for each and every one of us.

The perfect lenses, God, has mastered the vision and eye care department! God himself has designed each set of lenses to fit us perfectly, so we can see in the Spirit realm. Just like our routine visits to the eye doctor to get our eyes examined and our glasses adjusted – it is also important that we ask the Lord to adjust our lenses daily or even by the minute – through prayer and meditation on God’s word.

We have to be positioned to allow God to adjust our spiritual lenses as He sees fit. He only wants to help us see love and compassion, especially in these uncertain times. We need to see people from our God lenses and focus on God’s plan, not our own plan.

God wants to give us a greater vision of who He is and the plans He has for us and who we can reach. We have to remember that Satan’s goal is to use insecurity and fears to keep us from growing and living a full and joyful life we are destined to live. We must tap into the power of God’s vision for our life by meditating on scriptures and His promises!

When we spend time in prayer, worship, and scripture, God will reveal dreams and visions.

11 In Him also we have [a]received an inheritance [a destiny—we were claimed by God as His own], having been predestined (chosen, appointed beforehand) according to the purpose of Him who works everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His will. Ephesians 1:11 (AMP).

16 May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love. Ephesians 3:16-17 (AMP).

His sight assures us that the vision we have is from God. A vision from the Lord creates a mission from heaven.

A vision from the Lord creates a mission from heaven.

This is illustrated in the life of Moses when he went up on the mountain, received a vision of the tabernacle, and was told to construct it according to the pattern that he had received.

10 “Make the heart of this people insensitive,
Their ears dull, And their eyes dim,
Otherwise, they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed.” Isaiah 6:10 (AMP)

12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye,
The [omnipotent] Lord has made both of them. Proverbs 20:12 (AMP

7 “The Lord your God is in your midst,
A Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy;
He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins],
He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy. Zephaniah 3:17 (AMP)

2 with all humility [forsaking self-righteousness], and gentleness [maintaining self-control], with patience, bearing with one another [a]in [unselfish] love. 3 Make every effort to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the bond of peace [each individual working together to make the whole successful]. Ephesians 4:2-3 (AMP)

21 Woe (judgment is coming) to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever and shrewd in their own sight! Isaiah 5:21(AMP)
