We Are Overcomers and More Than Conquerors in Jesus Christ

We are Overcomers

Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. (KJV)

Romans 8:37
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (NKJV)

The Power of Overcoming Through Christ

You ask, how do we overcome? We need to open our mouths and testify of all the Lord has done, not only in our lives but also in the lives of those around us. God’s goodness and grace have given us something to speak about to glorify Him and all our Savior has done. It is because of His sacrifice that we have a testimony in the first place.

How Do We Overcome?

Being a conqueror is what Christ has made us because He conquered death, hell, and the grave. As heirs with Christ, we too can conquer.

A Personal Testimony of God’s Deliverance

Here is part of my testimony of how I overcame. When I first got saved, the enemy was not pleased. He did everything to try to destroy me physically, mentally, and emotionally. I lost many so-called friends who didn’t understand that I had met Jesus and given my life to Him. Even my family thought I was crazy, believing that my past lifestyle and drug use had caught up with me.

However, the Lord kept ministering to me, delivering me from that lifestyle. I no longer desired to be that person, and as I studied the Bible, I began to change. Everyone around me saw the transformation, and they knew it was real. God performed miracle after miracle in my life, and my testimony became my changed life.

The Transformation After Salvation

My younger sister saw the change in me and gave her life to Christ. Friends who had once been close began to call me a “Jesus freak” and drifted away. Eventually, I was invited to a Christian church where people were praising God and lifting their hands—something new to me.

They invited me back for a prayer meeting where they prayed for people and laid hands on them. They offered to pray for me to receive the Holy Spirit. Though I was initially scared, the Lord spoke to me, calming my fears, and I had a powerful encounter with Him that night. This experience changed me forever, and I will never forget it.

The Role of the Holy Spirit in My Journey

Since that day, I have praised God daily for saving and delivering me. I know now that I am an overcomer and more than a conqueror in Jesus Christ.

Enduring Battles with God’s Help

When you first get saved, it seems like God answers prayers quickly, and He blesses you in countless ways. You start to change everything to please Him, and your love for your Savior grows deeper. However, the enemy does not like this, and battles soon arise.

Though I have faced many battles, too numerous to mention here, God has seen me through each one. I learned to trust Him to fight my battles for me, knowing I was never alone. God even gave me fellow Christians to help teach me and remind me of His might.

God’s Faithfulness Through My Journey

So, you see, God is no respecter of persons. What He has done for me, He can do for you. Don’t lose heart—God is for you, not against you. Seek Him, and He will see you through.

My walk with the Lord began in October 1977, 47 years ago, and He is still working on me today. God bless.
