Entering 2022, my thoughts keep going to “Trusting God.” As I look back at 2021 and my walk with God, the things I went through, and the words I believe God had given me, I began to ponder, “Do I really trust God?”
Yes, I do want to trust God. I do want to believe what He had given me in scripture in 2021; even though it has not happened, I choose to believe the word He is giving me will still come about. For me and you to trust God, we must always view our circumstances through the eyes of faith, not of our senses and reasonings. So the faith to trust God comes through the word of God alone.
Have you ever thought and felt that way, “ Can I trust God?“ Have you had questions like, “where is God in all of this? Can I truly trust God when misfortune, hardship, or tragedy strikes and fills my life with pain?”
Can I trust God? I asked myself this question, “Do I have such a relationship with God, and such a confidence in Him that I believe what he gave me in 2021 in Scripture will come about even though I do not see any evidence of His presence and his power?”
For me and you to trust God, we must always view our circumstances through the eyes of faith, not of our senses and reasonings. So the faith to trust God comes through the word of God alone.
I read a quote by Jerry Bridges, “God and his love always will be what is best for us. In his wisdom he always knows what is best, and in his sovereignty he has the power to bring it about.” We must acknowledge, God‘s plan and his ways of working out His plan are frequently beyond our ability to understand. We must learn to trust when we don’t understand.
And Romans 11:33, TPT, “ Who could ever wrap their minds around the riches of God, the depth of his wisdom, and the marvel of his perfect knowledge? Who could ever explain the wonder of his decisions or search out the mysteries and the way he carries out his plan?“
I believe Paul acknowledged as we must acknowledge, God‘s plan and his ways of working out His plan are frequently beyond our ability to understand. We must learn to trust when we don’t understand.
Trust-to trust, trust in – to have confidence be confident- to be bold – to be secure.
