Rising Out of the Ashes

The Phoenix is a mythological bird that recycles its own life. When it perceives its impending death, the phoenix builds a pyre nest of aromatic branches and spices, such as Myrrh. The Phoenix then ignites itself into a magnificent fire and is consumed in the flames. After 3 days the birth or rebirth occurs. The Phoenix arises from its own ashes – reborn, renewed, and very much alive!

Phoenix – means that he or she has arisen from flames as a winner, beating all life challenges and defeating hard times. It is a symbol of rebirth from the ashes of the past, and it represents the victory of life over death, thus immortality.

Isn’t this glorious news! Does it not sound like another familiar story we have heard before? The birth and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Hallelujah, it gets me excited just thinking about it!!

We all have gone through, are going through, or eventually will go through, trials and tribulations in this lifetime – it’s just the way it is.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

No matter what you are facing, no matter what you have done, no matter what has been done to you, YOU are a child of GOD! YOU are redeemed in CHRIST! YOU are set free from ANY and ALL things from the past!

As far as the East is from the West,  so far does he remove our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12

We are winners in Christ Jesus – as far as He is concerned! He is the only ONE that really matters! There is no one here on this Earth that can take our pain, brokenness, loneliness, desperation, addictions, afflictions,  or any other burden you may suffer with, except for Jesus. When he died upon the cross, he paid it all right then and there, so you and I don’t ever have too.

Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5

Stop running away from Jesus and run to him. Jesus says, in John 14:6 “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.”  So come and rise up out of those ashes and be set free, free to soar like the Phoenix high above all the Earth, and just wait and see all the good and glorious things God has for you! In Isaiah 61:3, He promises to give us a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

My wish for each one of you, is that YOU will be as the Phoenix and rise up out the thing or situation that is holding down. FLY like the wind…
