New Beginnings

Happy New Year! Well, we made it through another year, and what a year it was! So much happened in 2020, but it feels as though not all of it was a loss!

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about [a]this present result, to keep many people alive. Genesis 50:20 NASB

I challenge you to reflect back at last year and find good things or one good thing that came from God out of 2020.

It is okay to look back at the past but it is not good to stay there for too long, otherwise, we get sucked into the what for’s, how come’s, and why me’s. And Lord knows we don’t need to go there, it’s too easy to get caught up in despair and fear in the world today.

It is okay to look back at the past but it is not good to stay there for too long, otherwise, we get sucked into the what for’s, how come’s, and why me’s. And Lord knows we don’t need to go there, it’s too easy to get caught up in despair and fear in the world today.

Let’s look to the future and see what God’s plan is for us, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to look forward with joy to God’s destiny in your life.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

These are just a few scriptures of God’s good plans for us, and there are many more. Look them up and see what all God has for you! God is a good Father.

I wanted to share with you something that I have done for many years now. When the end of the year is close at hand, I begin to ask God for a word for the next year. Most of the time, He gives me one word, but sometimes it’s a scripture of a few words, and sometimes a phrase. So I write it down and then I begin to investigate the meaning of it. I look up scriptures that pertain to it as well. I am a journaler so I write it down so I can go back often and refer to what God gave me personally. God bless!

So let’s look to God and see what the future holds for us. Let us be full of joy and hope, and let us determine that no matter what the enemy throws our way, we know that God has a bigger and better plan for us.

Let us be full of joy and hope, and let us determine that no matter what the enemy throws our way, we know that God has a bigger and better plan for us.

For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,  while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

This is great news!  Glory to God.
