What do you do when you feel the world is falling down around you? Do you run to your friends and family for advice or complain about what you are going through? Do you suffer in silence? Do you blame God if bad things happen to you?
We all go through trials in our lives. We have stressful days where it seems nothing goes right. What can we do about it? God says in Psalm 25:4-5 “Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.”NLV
What does this verse mean? It means that I will rely on God to help me each step of the way. Even when things seem not to be going right, I should look to Him to lead me and to teach me. God knows the beginning to the end and the best path to take. Even though things may not be going right at the exact moment I’m in, it won’t always be this way.
I know when I’ve been through trials in life, and I have relied on God to help me through, He always did. Was every step easy? No, but God was there lifting me up. Helping me as I was going through it. As I kept my eyes on God, this not only built my faith but also helped build my relationship with him even more. James 1:2-4 says, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete lacking in nothing.” ESV
Trials build and strengthen our faith; they produce maturity; they teach us to rely on God and they conform us into the image of Christ. 1 Peter 1:7 “These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” NLT
A great example of this is I’m dealing with a trial right now. My dad is in the late stages of dementia. To slowly watch your dad fade away is one of the hardest things I have had to go through. I have had four miscarriages, and God carried me through these. Even though this disease is cruel and the things we are facing are hard, I know I can rely on God to carry me through this trial just as He did when I lost our babies. When it becomes overwhelming, I can talk to God; He can bring me peace and comfort. In each trial I have been through, I listen to what God has to say and what the Bible has to say, and it brings me great comfort and helps me through.

My true passion is pleasing Jesus Christ and getting closer to him daily. I try to start each day by reading his word and trying to grow in him, my goal is to be just like Jesus. I want to be an example to my daughter, Alyssa, so she grows up to be a strong follower of God. I currently serve on the prayer team and worship team at Common Ground Church. I have been singing most of my life while singing, I hope to please God and give him the Glory.
