Psalm 27:4 AMP
“ One thing have I ask of the Lord, that will I seek and inquire for, and insistently require; that I may DWELL in the house of the Lord, in His presence all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty, the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in his temple.
Psalm 23:6 AMP
Surely only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life and through the length of my days the house of the Lord and his presence shall be my “dwelling” place.
What is the “house” of the Lord? God‘s presence, God at work, right here and now. God‘s presence, a gift to us that sets us free to love and serve. God‘s presence, God at work “within us and through us.”
Psalm 138:1-18
You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you………
God knows everything about you and me. God‘s presence is everywhere. The word tells us God is intimately aware of and concerned for his creation.
So I started thinking, WOW!
We are in God‘s presence 24/7. We are with our creator all the time.
Our creator the one who formed us and knows us.
Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”
And Psalms 139, talks about Him knowing us.
So I started thinking, why do I sometimes feel like I have a hard time spending time with him? I thought, I never have a hard time spending time with my husband, my children, or my friends.
As I was talking to the Lord about this, I felt like the Lord reminded me that I have the “mind” of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:16 AMP
For who has known, or understood the mind, the councils, and purposes of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ and do hold the thoughts feelings and purpose of His heart.
Also, he reminded me that the Holy Spirit lives in me.
2 Timothy 1:14
Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you. Guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
As I was talking to the Lord about this, I heard him say, to me in my mind,
“ Paula, you are now realizing you are in my presence 24/7. I want you to talk to me just like if I was there physically with you. I am with you in spirit, so talk to me as you would your family and friends. Share your day with me, your thoughts, your feelings, your ideas, your desires, talk with me as if I was there physically with you. And as you do this, I will do what my word says.
Ephesians 1:17b-19 (MSG)
He told me he would
(1) make me intelligent and discerning in knowing Him personally,
(2) make my eyes focused and clear, so that I can see exactly what it is He is calling me to do, and grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life,
3) help me see the extravagance of His work in me and all who trust him – endless energy, boundless strength!
Ephesians 3:16-19 16 NIV
(1) strengthen me with power in my inner being
(2) dwell in my heart through faith
(3) help me be rooted and established in love
(4) grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ
(5) know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I will be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
This is so amazing that we are in His presence 24/7.
Our creator wants us to just talk to him all the time, and as we do, His word will be produced through our lives. We will become more of His character, His attitude, His thoughts, His speech, and His actions!
So I encourage you my sisters whenever you’re by yourself or alone in the car or at home, just talk to him as if he was physically there because He is (there with you in spirit.)
YOU are in His presence 24/7.
