Don’t Let Go of His Promises!

God is a promise keeper! “The Lord is faithful to ALL His promises and loving toward ALL He has made” Psalm 145:13.

This does not mean we will not face challenges just because we are believers.. BUT God will turn all things meant for evil to our good and His Glory!

Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

Satan has used many things to bring discouragement to me in my personal life over the past few months.  There have been challenges at work with new management; I have helped move 4 people including myself all in the month of May, my mothers health, changes in our family and  to top everything off my car was stolen within 4 weeks of living in my new apartment, so the last several months have been very challenging for me.  The devil  is a very patient devil and he will use anything he can to get our eye off of the Lord and His faithfulness.

I have quoted His word over me and when doubt comes and it has – I say God is faithful, what Satan means for evil God will turn to my good and His Glory! I have said this more times then I can count…  I had a pretty good handle on that, even with some tears and sadness I knew God would remain faithful to His promises.

A week has now gone by and yet I still have not been able to replace my car due to the insurance company and the process it takes for stolen cars. Satan tried to get my eyes off the Lord in a way that I have not personally encountered.  I found myself looking at people that live near me and  I began creating stories in my head of how they must have been the people that stole my car.  Now if you know me at all I typically think the best in every person and every circumstance.

For some reason with all the struggles I have endured over the last few months I allowed satan to get in my head and convince me that these random strangers actually stole my car.  Yes, satan in those moments had me taking my eyes off what God’s word says and what He promises within His word.  I had to come the the place and reconcile in my heart that at the end of the day it really doesn’t  matter who or even how my car was stolen.  I needed God to remind me that God loves them just as much as He loves me.

Once God revealed this to me I began to pray for them that God would show them my Bible that was in the car and maybe just maybe they would open it and forever be changed because His living word was revealed to them in that very moment.  God began to work on me about trusting HIM and I don’t need to know who, what, how or even when. All I need to know is God Loves Me and is in complete control of everything, I cannot do anything to change what happened in the natural but I sure can believe that God has already won the battle in the supernatural. He will fulfill His promises.

‘Vengeance is Mine, and retribution, In due time their foot will slip; For the day of their disaster is at hand, And they’re doom hurries to meet them.’ Deuteronomy 32:35

I was able to let it go… I was set free from watching people and thinking the worse .. satan will work overtime to keep us distracted from what God really wants for us all.

Satan tried to use fear to keep me down during this difficult time- BUT with the word of God and His promises, satan will not succeed. He will try. But the word in you will override the fear if you don’t let go.

At church our praise and worship leader sang a few songs that ministered to me so much – I just cried not because of what is going on, but because of his goodness in the midst of what is going on. I know He  is faithful no matter what we face.. trials will come but His word says he will be with us though it all.

God already knew this season in my life was going to be a difficult one. I just have to remember to constantly be in His word and trust what He says in it to be the only truth.

Here are a few of His promises I am standing on in this season –

Psalm 23:1-3- The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want. 2 He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters. 3 He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Isaiah 41:10 ‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you;
Do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you;
I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’

Isaiah 41:13 “For I the Lord your God keep hold of your right hand; [I am the Lord], Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’

Isaiah 43:2. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you.
When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.

1 Peter 5:6-7  Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, 7 casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].

Psalm 34:17-18 – 17 When the righteous cry [for help], the Lord hears And rescues them from all their distress and troubles.

18  The Lord is near to the heartbroken
And He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin).

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 3 Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

There are so many examples in His word of people that had to trust in him and His word during difficult times!

Deborah: Trusting God through the demands of life

Zechariah & Elizabeth: Trusting God when a longing is unfulfilled

Isaiah: trusting God through bad news

Woman healed by Jesus: trusting God is taking risks despite the pain

Moses: trusting God when there is no way out

David: trusting God when life is not how you pictured it

Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego: trusting God no matter the outcome

Naomi and Ruth: trusting God when you feel alone

Jacob: trusting God when you’ve messed up

Esther: trusting God to act even when you’re afraid

There are so many more stories.. like Job and Paul, this is just a few stories.

They are a great reminders of God’s Faithfulness to His children.

DON’T LET GO!!
